Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India made it mandatory to update the IEC details for all IEC holders every year. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued a notification that from April to June once every year the IEC holders are now legally required to update the details through the online system even if there are no changes. If an IEC holder fails to update the details their IEC code shall be de-activated and no import-export activity will be possible.
