India on Tuesday reported 1,68,063 new Coronavirus cases and 277 deaths, reaching an active count of 8,21,446, data from the Union Ministry of Health showed. The daily positivity rate reaches10.64 percent.

Meanwhile, the Omicron tally has reached 4,461, with Maharashtra reporting 1,247 followed by Rajasthan (645) and Delhi (546).

Delhi govt. on Tuesday revised its guidelines and put more restrictions. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued revised guidelines, ordering all private offices in Delhi to shut down and ask their employees to work from home, except those under the exempted category such as private banks, pharmacies, and courier services. The notice also ordered all restaurants and bars to shut down and continue with takeaway services.
This decision was taken during a DDMA meet on Monday including lieutenant governor Anil Baijal and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Maharashtra government has issued a fresh set of guidelines to rein in the spread of Covid in the state. According to the new guidelines, no movement in groups will be allowed between 11 pm and 5 am, except for essential services. Maharashtra govt has decided that the schools and colleges will be closed till 15 February except for activities required for class 10 and 12 students and administrative activities of teachers.

Amid the massive surge in Covid-19 cases, the Rajasthan govt. on Sunday, 9 Jan 2022, issued new guidelines. The state government imposed a weekend curfew starting from 11:00 pm on Saturday to 5:00 am on Monday. As per the latest order, essential activities will be exempted from the regulations of the weekend curfew. Rajasthan government also said the night curfew already in place across Rajasthan, will continue from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am every day.
